filmed at Željava Air Base, which is situated on the border between Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was the largest underground airport and military air base in the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (SFRY), and one of the largest in Europe.

Während Titos Regierungszeit entstanden über 200 Monumente, die an den Widerstand der Partisan*innen und an die Verbrechen des Zweiten Weltkriegs erinnern. Was seinerzeit für die Zusammengehörigkeit aller Bewohner*innen der Republiken und autonomen Provinzen stand, zeugt heute von politischer und gesellschaftlicher Zerrissenheit. Zerwürfnisse und Kriege haben in den neuen Nationalstaaten Differenzen sichtbar gemacht und zu ethnisch, national und religiös motivierten Konflikten beigetragen.
